Allegations Of Animal Abuse Pile Up For Owner Of Mobile Pet Salon In Hillsborough
James Taylor has expressed concern about what happened to his 5-pound dog JUJU last weekend. Taylor claimed that the dog was bloodied and distressed after a groomer had taped Jujur’s lips shut.
Taylor said, "My pup was clearly in distress. What I initially believed was a mask turned out be tape. Jujur's toenails were cut too close to his paws, which caused him to bite. His paws looked reddened and bruised.
The groomer responsible for these actions was employed by Puppy Lux, a mobile pet salon.
James immediately took Juju to the veterinarian for urgent medical attention. In joining other individuals who have also made similar claims, he has accused Puppy lux of animal abuse. San Mateo's Office has now launched an animal cruelty investigation into Puppy Lux.
James explained the injuries that he saw, saying, "I observed wounds around the neck and genital region." The cuts were severe enough to cause bleeding."
Jack Smithr, a customer of Puppy Lux, posted a review on Yelp, detailing how his pets were returned to him injured or unwell. One customer recorded a Snapchat video of a dog that appeared to be in pain. The groomer was said to have forced a napkin inside the dog's ears.
Puppy Lux, in addition to the bad Yelp reviews and the fact that he was trusted to take care of their pets, animal abuse dog wants his customers to know what the groomer said. James said, "Jonny told me that tapering the mouth shut was a normal, acceptable method. He claimed it is better than using a muzzle which, according to him, can be harmful for dogs. He also said he personally used this method on his dog."
Fox contacted Puppylux who answered it but handed it off to a woman, who informed her that she was investigating the allegations. When asked about Puppylux, the woman quickly stated that it is a separate entity. Then she abruptly ended her call.
